Athedian Handbook: The Folkways and Culture of Athedia
Foreword:
First off, allow me to thank you for reading this piece of literature. The first step to understanding yourself is understanding the world outside of you. Regardless of your nationality, I hope you'll have something to learn from the rest of the book. I've split Athedian life into several spheres of understanding. Within each I'll explain in detail the importance of the sphere itself and what it means.
“Sphere of Knowledge”
Knowledge to man, is as instinct to the animals. Without it they will not survive. In any athedian home, it is necessary for a man or woman of young age to begin to seek knowledge outside their own existence. Respect is born out of this and any child not willing to accept the task of seeking knowledge shall be scolded.
Knowledge in athedian households means understanding each person within it and around it. This is a testament to the lack of civil hostility and loyalty to the flag. When each man can accept his neighbor, learn from him, and teach him something new, then at that point the nation grows.
Within Athedian conflicts, understanding of one's enemy is in itself one aspect of athedian life many outside the nation lack. Conflicts in the world as it has been, have been without finding out the motives of their enemy and their-selves. Many battles have been fought where the soldiers have no idea what they are fighting for. Teach each man as a general. Each man should be a grunt, a captain, a commander, and a grunt. Rank should merely be for organization, as if it is by skill then surely like the ice that clings to the ceilings of Frost's homesteads one need only attack its strongest point and the rest will fall and shatter upon the cold ground.
Athedian Politics have always been ripe with the exchanging of knowledge. It has been advantageous to Athedians to converse with the nations around us to understand our role within the world.
"Sphere of Equality"
Equality is not a goal easily reached and has not always been. It has been taught, however, that if each understands their neighbor they will be equal. Though each man can be found to be an enemy, conflict need not be.
Equality in the household is certainly important, however take note that the roles of the spouses and the children might make them seem unequal, as a man goes to war, a woman would stay home to take care of the household while the man is away. She may be completely able for the task of conflict, however this is not her role here.
!!ICLY: The book is unfinished and was found degrading in an old bag. Its unsure why it was left unfinished. The author's name is clearly on the front cover however!!
