Full Description

Standing at 5'7 and a slender appearance, the Sorcerer himself could possibly be seen in White attire, no matter what the occasion. If it is raining, or if he just feels the need to, he adorns a full-white cloak with hood, concealing himself beneath it's full embrace (though he has a thinner, less-concealing hood on his basic garments. Actually, seeing his face in casual interactions is quite the rarity itself). Even his hands are wearing gloves, but with the fingers cut out for various utility purposes. However, if for some reason he was to be seen without his hood, his garments, or his gloves, one would see the most fascinating sight; along his body are lines of tattoos in the traditional elvish tribal style, in waving light-blue crescents that not only emerge on his face and ring around his own torso in a symmetrical fashion, but seem to go further, as if to also go towards his legs and thigh areas. When he begins channeling mana, the Sorcerer's tatooos shine brightly, echoing with his will to manifest Air into the world. On his back left shoulder blade, where there is a gap in his tattoos, there would be the Sigil of the Fighting Forces of the Imperial Dalmar for which he served valiantly as many things - most notably an intelligence collection expert, an instructor in the Magical arts at the College, a valuable warrior, and was even made the Warden of the Jail Cell at the Capital during this time period. Upon the urging of his drunken comrades, under the crest it says MAGUS SUPERIOR in an unrolled scroll. Aza's eyes are as his tattoos - a dashing electric blue that brightens as he channels mana. His hair, however, is an unagely white, as if it was an inherited trait.

No matter where you meet the Aeromancer it would always seem as if there was an eerie movement of air about him (even if there wasn't a cloud in the sky or a ripple in the trees). The movement of air itself would cause grass to eternally be bent in a counter-clockwise motion, as well as any water at his immediate feet, pushing it away if it was only a thin layer on the ground.

Associations of Aza

Aza himself has gained association with many a person over the last several years. From fighting off evil to the simple acts of friendship associated with wandering the Kharlian countryside, even an Orc would be bound to make some friends. However, no other associations are as proud nor as important to Aza as these.

  • Joe Romane: Through countless times and adventures, no other friendship has proven stronger than that of Aza and Joe Romane. From combatting penultimate forces of Evil to just generally saving each other's ass, Joe and Aza's paths have cross many times with only positive outcomes. Their friendship even went so far as to when they were facing off on opposite sides in the Invasion of Port Wolfe that Joe Romane ordered his men to take the unconcious Aza to safety after being incapacitated by an exploding canon shell, though he was clearly responsible for a severe disruption in troop movements of the Valikorlian Empire during that battle.

Joe Romane's friendship with Aza has stood the test of time, truly.

  • Shival Felwind: Though the feeling is not mutual (and more than boarderline obsessive when you get down to it), Shival Felwind herself has been the core at which Aza Alarin has been driven since his Youngling years as a stumbling peasant boy selling potions and salves. He had first encountered Shival Felwind in Fort Lhaeo - then a Mrs. Shival Hakor - peddling potions from town to town as an apprentice tradesman. It was then that he was stricken by (and I quote) "the striking beauty that would make the gods blush at their imaginations." Shortly after an encounter with her, he emptied the potion jars, pissed in them, and threw them at his Master before taking his earnings and travelling to the tower Ignis Fatuus (then at the top of the Laboo Summit). From there, after being granted approval he stayed and spent his years in study of his inner magical prowess with the Air, and the words of power for Fire, and the workings with the Arcane.

It was the drive to not only meet a level that would gain the attention of Miss Felwind, but surpass it that drove Aza where he was today. On occasion, he had found himself at her side fighting whatever evil had threatened Kharlia next. The rest of the history about how Shival remained the pennacle of Aza's very existence can only be discovered through interaction with him - but, needless to say, it is a vital part of him.

  • Erika Okibi: A trusted ear and a confidant if you ever needed one... Not to mention, if you ever happen to be drunk in Ganelon, you can always just break in and pass out on her shop floor and it would be something of a normal occurence (well, at least for the more-than-casual-drinker elf).
  • Ignis Fatuus: As a faction, over the years Aza Alarin has had a love-hate relationship with the Ignis Fatuus as a whole. On one hand, it was the system that brought him through all of his life - he had layed his head there, and from various people he had been taught not only to master Aeromancy from within, but to drive his passion for magic itself and into the books where he began the workings with words and the mastery of Fire and the Arcane. On the other, however, Aza Alarin has never been a member of the Ignis Fatuus formally more than someone who happened to reside there, and since the fall of the tower itself, he has held a disgust with the direction and various alignments that the Tower has taken over time - deteriorating from a Guild of Mages and an exchange of magical knowledge to a school, tossing out the Master-Apprentice method and not making all mages equal in the eyes of Ignis itself.
  • Valikorlia(nation): This is possibly the most interesting segment on this entire list - namely because of Aza's history as aligned with the Imperial Dalmar. Interestingly enough, when it comes down to it, Aza sees the Valikorlian Empire as simply another phase in history. He has seen nations rise and, just as easily as they had risen, fall within days of conflict or strife. With all of it's nobles, it's organizations, and it's territories, it is simply another nation, poised to fall. It is his honest belief that the nation of Valikorlia deserves a better leader than what has been provided unto the people.

Relation to Imperial Dalmar

Aza's relation to Imperial Dalmar was probably the greatest and most pivotal movement that I, as a player, put him in. His decision came with the dawn of the Inquisition, and the beginning of the Valikorlian-backed persecution and limitation of Magic in a religious surge that swept through the land. It was at that time that Imperial Dalmar had made the declaration of it's backing of the Ignis Fatuus -

Aza, seeing the coming troubles in the future, showed initiative as one of a few that migrated towards Imperial Dalmar in hopes of it's proliferation of Magic and Knowledge overcoming the Inquisition's anti-magic movement in the north. It was here that Aza Alarin truly shone, from teaching the stucture and the wonder of Magic to the eager eyes of the common-folk at the University in Port Wolfe to himself learning the art of combat, mixing his natural influences of his trade into a unique martial style. He was a scholar, a warrior, and a contributing citizen to the Empire - from this, he was placed as the managing warden of the Prison at the Imperial Capital.

From there, Aza made several underbelly acquaintances and enemy soldiers, and using this knowledge he happily pranced across Bridgeton as a Message carrier and into the open arms of opposing forces under the guise of a Priest of Elan (of which Aza does give thanks to, of course - but desperate times call for desperate measures) and provided intel into troop movement to the Martial forces of Imperial Dalmar.

One day, the Aeromancer had too much of the good stuff, thinking that he could keep up with the thicker-stomached and hardened drinkers that he was placed with for training. All in unison, they convinced him to pay the tattoo master for him to get a tattoo along with them - but under it they chose his nickname as "Magus Superior" as opposed to "Major Muscles" that one of the other men had engraved on their back. And so, Aza was left a permanent marking of an empire that now only exists within a memory.

During the Battle of Port Wolfe, utilizing both a quarterstaff and his bow (and a wee pinch of magic here and there) Aza was helping defend the forefront of the attack on Port Wolfe. Halfway through the battle, as Port Wolfe was slowly showing defeat, word traveled through the chain for the Sorcerer and his men to make for the University and to pull out the Civilians that were holed up in the Library. Making haste, Aza pulled through the back road and began routing the group, herding them like sheep towards safety. However, as the battle pressed on the back way became the source of heavy conflict. In a decision that would lose 2 of his men, Aza pulled the civilians through the heart of the battlefield, placing them between the backs of the enemy forces, and the forefronts of their cannons.

It was then that the next volley of fire began firing. Aza ordered the civilians to keep moving - he and one other person accompanying him casting a Mana Shield at the last second, saving the civilians, incapacitating Aza and killing the other. In recountation from Joe Romane, he was ordered to be carried on the ship by the old acquaintance, and by the time Aza had been revived, the Battle was long over and he was halfway across the sea in Lucca.

Nevermore would Aza Alarin step into Imperial Dalmar - by the time he was well enough to travel (the explosion itself had caused more than your simple incapacitation. Aza was seriously wounded, causing him to be on a cane for the longest of time and giving his left leg a pain that reflects even unto this very day), the war had ended.

Sorcerer of Air

Through a mastery of will, the Sorcerer has tuned his internal attunement to the Air Plane and become one of the finest Aeromancers in the history of Kharlia. He is able to cast every spell to every tier of public knowledge in the realm of Air Magic. Through an interest in books and the inner workings of Magic and Mana, through his years Aza has also gained knowledge of the words used to manifest it, and control all aspects of the Arcane (minus, of course, Teleport and all but one solely-Illusion-magic spell (Will'o Wisp)). And, of course, the Sorcerer's infatuation with Miss Felwind also led him to delve into the world of Fire Magic.
