Bremen von Rothschild is the Foreign Minister of Imperial Dalmar, and is of mixed Alkarian and Dalmarite heritage. He is currently also a Loremaster, and sits as Professor of International Relations at The Imperial Academy of Dalmar. Bremen has written several works of note, particularly On the Primacy of States, which is highly influential in understanding the state in the international system. Furthermore, Bremen is the great-grandson of renowned Alkarian Cologne von Rothschild, and nephew of notable scholar Brunswich von Rothschild.

Personality

Bremen is a very careful person, and often comes across as rather quiet. He believes that speaking just because one can is foolhardy, and keeps his thoughts to himself in social situations unless he feels that his contribution is required. Consequently, Bremen sometimes seems uninterested in the people he meets.

As a scholar and diplomat, Bremen is more passionate. While his natural tendency is to be cautious, Bremen understands the need to be friendly, reassuring, both as the Foreign Minister of an aggressive state and as a Professor seeking to generate enthusiasm in his students. Consequently, when attempting to convince an alien state that Dalmar does not seek their land or discussing the primacy of the state in international relations, Bremen attempts to be warmer than he finds natural.

In private, Bremen strives to be as open as possible. He feels comfortable with those he is close to, and is quite emotional, but cannot entirely shake his natural caution. Bremen finds that while he has no trouble expressing himself honestly to those he cares about, he sometimes underplays the strength of his feelings.

Finally, Bremen values loyalty above most other traits. He believes that loyalty to family and country is a core human value. Bremen believes that this loyalty should have no limits, that people should do everything for and expect nothing from those they care for. Bremen respects any individual who displays loyalty of some sort, even if it does not live up to his 'universal loyalty' ideal. Bremen's belief is that, at the least, everyone should have something that they are prepared to die for.
