Attributes

A powerful body that is proportionate, with Bromium what you see is what you get: a physically dominating yet considerably less than agile Forgewrought. He is composed of steel, stone, and wood. (Which is hugely why he is confused when he is called "Tin man")

Skills

Bromium is trained as a Fighter, Blacksmith, and is a master Artificer.

Personality

A defender of sorts, Bromium looks upon all forms of life with respect and admiration. Originally believing that the destruction of life was always wrong in his "child like" stage, he has matured. Through the events leading up to Willy "Daggershark" Jones' death, he has realized that vigilantes are just as dangerous as the undead.

Equipment

Tracker Mask: Artificed by Bromium subconsciously before he had become aware of his talent, the tracker mask removes the Forgewrought's ability to speak in exchange for a sense of smell so strong that it can be used to track others when worn.

Spear of Celdin: A spear gifted to him for his service to Vergoth, the Spear of Celdin is offered to those who serve in the technological studies. Alone, it is capable of generating a small electric field around the blade - or, the "eye" of the spear can be used as a flash light.

Battlefist: Crafted by his own hands, the Battlefist is an arm attachment that has four claws as opposed to three fingers, along with several spikes and barbs in various places.

History

One of the Forgewrought created by Cahfei Shadespeak for labor, Bromium was built large enough to mine ore from caverns, carry it back on his own and manipulate the materials through forging. Employed to forge the armor and weapons for Cahfei's militant armors be it undead or not, Bromium grew weary of the undeath that lay around him. He would escape by using one of the scheduled trips to the ore-veins to make ship across to the other continent, where he would hide by himself in Ascense.

Without the forge and an anvil, the Forgewrought felt incomplete. A short ammount of time would pass before Bromium gained the courage to leave his desolate home. Making his way down the mountain trail, he would stumble upon the newly established Hammerforge, also meeting another Forgewrought - Cloggit the Lumberjack. Cloggit having been wounded by a tree falling on his back, needed repair. The Dwarves opened their walls to the Forgewrought that they might make repairs, and so they did. After applying the metal, stone, and wood to Cloggit's back, Bromium requested to aid the Dwarves as a Blacksmith. Ultimately refused, Bromium made his way out into the world.

On his way into the world...

Moving north, braving the path past Cahfei's tower to Bandit Tree Pass, the Forgewrought would find that several shattered and broken Forgewrought were massacring the public (Or being massacred themselves.) Feeling pity, Bromium pleaded with the broken minds, and was refused. They would eventually be beaten back, however for Bromium to realize they were coming from Cahfei's tower. Finding himself deep into the Clockwork castle area that he had built so many weapons for the very thing that he opposed, he also found something more. Humans and Forgewrought alike gathered around a malfunctioning Creation Forge and spoke of Cahfei's dissapearance. A great relief waft over Bromium as he looked on. A Runic Welder had been lodged into the side, and removed likewise. While this gave great controversy, the majority of the group left soon after.

However, five in particular remained - one of which had hidden. Bromium looked toward the hulking Forgewrought Lockjaw. Lockjaw, like Bromium, was created by Adom. The differences in the two were many as Bromium was soon to find out. The obvious was clear though. Lockjaw was indeed a Golem built Forgewrought. Unintelligent with a hint of sentience, he followed a smaller female-personality Forgewrought name Iron Lora (also referred to as Amethyst). The third in the room was a battle scarred Forgewrought named Melquim.

Bromium was left struck with a brilliant idea - all of the Forgewrought now had a home! Cahfei and his undead minions were gone, and the tower was empty save for the in-animate Forgewrought and clockwork Kender. There was also the malfunctioning creation forge, and his beloved blacksmithing tools. Voicing his opinion in his robotic voice, he was ignored by the plotting Iron Lora. At that time, Bromium did not quite understand the extent to which the situation would develop.

The attrocities of the outside world

It was not long after that the peaceful break ended - a man tore the head from a clockwork Kender. Soloman Pariah stepped out from behind a large gear shaft, speaking of controlling the Forgewrought and becoming their king using the already broken Creation Forge. The group of Forgewrought seemed to ignore him enough until he shamed Cahfei's name. With his eyes glazed over red, the Golem Forgewrought Lockjaw would grasp the man by the jaw and shatter his neck - blood spewing out of his mouth like water from a bath tub faucet. Traumatized, Bromium fell back onto the ground, staring.

lockjawbored9pq.gif

Lockjaw dropped Soloman Paraiah's corpse to the ground, and Iron Lora stepped over it, staring at the now petrified Bromium, who rocked back and forth mumbling about life. "We are not alive. You are not either" she told him, pulling some rock from her arm. Upon finding that her display had not changed his mind in the least, she branded him with the title "Defect" and stepped once more, over the man's corpse to the creation forge without a hint of remorse. Lockjaw too followed her. At this time, a strange looking Forgewrought with a gem for a Ghulra entered the room, speaking more like Data than Bromium ever could have. The Forgewrought announced himself to be Codex, and then by using magic, transformed Soloman Paraiah's corpse into a red crystal, depositing it into his own chest. His last words would leave a lasting mark on Bromium as the cleaning Forgewrought pointed at him. "So this one actually has a soul? This will be most intriguing."

Bromium exited Cahfei's tower soon after, crawling scraping to get away from "Iron Lora" and Lockjaw. It was some time before he would return to the tower to find it, thankfully, empty. He began to build things. Swords, armor, Warhammers, and daggers. He discarded them to the floor to build anew when something had been finished. Becoming so involved into his work, Bromium began to hammer out what seemed to be the corner of a square, which scaled down as it moved to the sides. This item, Bromium did not discard, but instead he placed it into his pack. Next he began to make something very much different. For several days he toileed over the forge and the anvil, and on a desk using various tools as the Runic Welder that Iron Lora had left in the tower. When it was finished, it was revealed to be a Battlefist.

The realization...

Bromium having left the Tower for several days to gather more ore to smelt, had returned once more to toil to work. But he heard something most strange within the room which held the Creation Forge. Iron Lora and Lockjaw stood conversing with a blue imp. Bromium knew then what he needed to do - and he entered the room telling them that he would stop them. Waving him off, Iron Lora told Lockjaw to dispose of the Defect should Bromium get close. And Lockjaw took guard as they continued to discuss. Pleading with Lockjaw that they were brothers and Iron Lora was obviously a Golem for showing no remorse over Soloman's death, he was refused.

Not believing that Lockjaw would attack him, Bromium continued past to attempt an attack against Lora to which Lockjaw would slam his massive chest into Bromium's chest - a blow that to this day has not been completely repaired to it's former splendor. The smaller Forgewrought flew back into the wall, through the piping. As steam spouted out of newly torn rips, Bromium pulled himself up, attempting to dash past Lockjaw to Iron Lora... and Lockjaw would grasp him up. Now realizing that Loxkjaw was not his brother, but instead a golem like Lora Bromium attempted a feeble attack of tearing off Lockjaw's head to which he failed miserably. Iron Lora now fed up with Bromium's interferences cast a spell on Lockjaw - one that made the Golem Forgewrought appear to have spikes all over his body. Lockjaw took on the appearance of a Juggernaut.

82102.jpg

Lockjaw would nearly powerbomb Bromium save that Bromium fell out of his grasp. As he once more attempted his way to his feet, the two left, once more branding his as a "defect" leaving Bromium to himself. The Imp having already left before, Bromium moved to the ore which he had mined. For several days, the Forgewrought toiled, repairing himself to working condition - a nasty scar left as a reminder of who his enemies truly were.

Sanctuary?

Bromium left the tower, now in fear for his life. Meandering to Bandit Tree Pass, he found Forgewrought guards. Intrigued, he asked them if they had a home. They spoke of a man named Vergoth, whom was not a man but a Forgewrought Paladin. One of the High Ordinators of Celdin, High Ordinator Vergoth promised protection for all, including the Forgewrought. Bromium would seek out this man.

Traveling past the Bandit-tree pass, Bromium continued on the road to what was then North Forest. Confused and stumbling about, the Forgewrought found himself at a massive gate filled with Human guards. Meekly, the Forgewrought made his way into the city. Looking about at first, the forested hamlet was huge. So many possibilities of where to go, yet so few real possibilities. It wasn't long, however, until Bromium heard voices.

Traveling down the road, the Forgewrought came across a Human spouting about a former command. It was Lt. General Jackson. The man the Lt. General was yelling at was a Forgewrought. Ugly words were used on the General's part including that "North Forest would be returned, even if War needed to occur to bring it back." With that, he left. Bromium was even more confused than ever. Stumbling about the city, weary of the Humans about him he finally made his way farther north to the castle. A myriad of guards both Human and Forgewrought stood guard as Bromium entered to soon find Knight-Captain Cruendithas Pegason.

Bromium was found a Blacksmith of the state, one who would make items when the need was arisen. Bromium was happy with this decision in it's entirety, however there was one more detail to take care of. Bromium conveyed the horrifying story of Iron Lora the demonic construct, and her servant golem Lockjaw, and the gruesome death of Soloman Paraiah. Pegason promised that Bromium would be given the chance to bring this up at the meeting to come.

Supplied with a free-use forge near the entrance of the city, the construct kept himself busy for three more days until a meeting was called... A meeting to discuss the prospects that Celdin was to bring. All members of the nation were welcome. The next day came about more quickly to Bromium, and he quickly made his way to the castle with haste.

The Grand Meeting

Many people gathered in the dining area of all races, shapes, genders, and sizes. At the head of the table was the Knight Captain and to the west end was the Forgewrought who had argued with the former Lt. General of Staghorn. Discussions were held over the Dwarves, and the alliances. Whether to expand into Laboo or build onto Lucca. Finally, the Knight Captain Cruendithas Pegason called for Bromium to convey the story, and so he did.

The Forgewrought at the end of the table stood up, a presence of power caught Bromium off guard. This Forgewrought was High Ordinator Vergoth himself. The High Ordinator ordered the capture of Iron Lora and Lockjaw, and their trial as well. The meeting adjourned and Bromium approached Cruendithas, requesting to join the ranks of the military. Bromium had blamed himself for not stopping Lockjaw, and wished to atone. Cruendithas had his doubts, however, easily noticing that Bromium was still mentally young.

Pulled to the side by the same imp whom Iron Lora and Lockjaw had spoken to, Delta Blauw, Bromium was enlightened to a welcoming truth. The Imp was not alligned with the two Forgewrought, but instead wanted to know about a Runic Hammer. The Imp went on to say that because Bromium respected life as he did, Bromium was his friend. Various topics were discussed from the fact that the fairy pond in Laboo was the closest thing to his home to the rudeness of Humans, and the kind hearted Pinnac. But as soon as the conversation had started, it seemed as if time passed. Delta Blauw had to leave.

An Artificer to the core...

So Bromium left the castle to go to Laboo. Laboo was said to have deep mines with ore, and Bromium intended to mine quite a bit to take his mind from the matter. Making his way through the initial cavern Bromium stepped into the sunlight to find Atna al' Faea and Azenthius Esthras. At that moment, Bromium began working on impulse. As if he was not controlling himself. The Forgewrought approached the Lich and handed him the corner of the square, looking at him as if expecting him to figure out the puzzle that Bromium himself did not know or understand.

The Lich conversed with Bromium for sometime, and through time the words "Wolf" were forceably uttered from his mouth. And so Azenthius gathered Wolf. Soon to kill it, Bromium grasped the axe, stopping him in mid swing. The construct kneeled next to the beast and looking it in the eyes. Grasping some hair from it, a compartment on his battlefist popped open - a small, circular disk fell to the ground.

82146.jpg - The disk in the battle fist's hand is a Docent, which is considered a Forgewrought artifact.

Bromium, with the Wolf fur in one hand picked the disk up with the other and moved to Azenthius handing them both to him. Azenthius grasped the objects and mistakenly placed his thumb on the bottom of the disk's circular gem. From the top, a beam of light moved up Azenthius' arm to his forehead and then to the fur in his other hand... and then to Bromium's ghulra. For a moment more, all was quiet. But then, the disk's lines began to glow a light blue. Mana was sucked out of Azenthius and then forced back into him. The fur in his other hand dulled and greyed immediately, and as soon as it did, the disk stopped it's actions.

Dazed, and confused Azenthius stared at Bromium who grasped the disk and the corner of the square as if he knew it was going to happen all along; even if he hadn't. The Forgewrought made his way back to Celdin in a confused stupor, unsure of what was happening to him. Returning to his blacksmithing to regain his sense of self, he places the corner piece into his pack along with the disk. He created several warhammers that night, and before he knew it his problems had wafted away.

An assassin's attempt...

The next day Bromium made way to the castle. He had made several weapons and armors and wished to give them to the military... But a familiar voice was heard. Lt. General Jackson was spouting off about tin cans and wanting to see Vergoth. With several men calming the red-necked ruffian, Bromium went to find the High Ordinator and alert him to Jackson's presence.

Entering Vergoth's room, Bromium found a cloaked assassin with a Dwarvish axe in hand attacking the High Ordinator... infact, he hand cleaved two of Vergoth's fingers off. Bromium yelled out in horror and charged the man, knocking him away as he looked to Vergoth in horror. Taking advantage of Bromium's and Vergoth's stunned dispositions, the cloaked figure spun about the stair case and swung at Vergoth's chest, badly damaging the Forgewrought. Bromium then tackled the cloaked figure back, whom managed to scramble out from underneath him and dash off but not after swinging his axe at Vergoth's arm once more, badly damaging it. Though saving Vergoth's life, Bromium felt as if he had failed somehow.

Angry and at a loss, Vergoth grasped his damaged arm and ripped it from his elbow. An entangled mess of wires that resembled organs strung out from the wound. Bromium watched in horror as Vergoth stormed off, to meet with Jackson and throw him in prison incase Jackson was also part of the gruesome plot. After several arrests and interrogations it was determined that none of the accused had been involved, a new face took the front of the investigation. A staunch woman that Bromium would grow to distrust more and more as he grew to know her - Caldyssa Eagleheart.

The Steadfast is born...

News soon spread that the High Ordinator was building onto Lucca. A former port for ships, Lucca was pretty obscure. But now it was planned to be an entire settlement ontop of being a port. Bromium made his way to Lucca in a hurry. Over the next few months Dwarves would brawl with Elves, a half-drow would smart off, and Bromium would build houses with his own two hands. Lucca would be finished.

Satisfied with the work, Bromium felt the need to approach the High Ordinator with one final question. Bromium was answered that question and was received with joy into the military by his kin: given the rank of sentinel. Quite pleased that he was give the chance to atone for his sin of not saving Soloman Paraiah, Bromium set out to meet with Cruendithas - a man which Bromium dared to consider a friend due to the friendly conversations that they always had. (Several of which had to deal with philosophy.)

As the time passed Bromium participated in the state often. Sometimes in service, sometimes in the courts. More days and nights would pass and Bromium would find Lockjaw and Iron Lora infront of the castle. With the majority of the troops at Lucca, he knew he alone could not fight them both off should they intend to attack the "Defect" and so he returned to Lucca heading directly for High Ordinator Ahdrid Sydel-Dragonis who shared the kingdom with Vergoth. He explained the situation to the Ordinator who promptly told him that Bromium himself would lead the expedition.

And so Bromium lead the troops first to Cahfei's tower where some of his finest work was stored. Everything from armors, axes, and swords to daggers, shields and War-hammers. The Sentinel told the men to take up Warhammers and the best armor they could use comfortably. Soon, they were all geared and they marched to North Forest.

Sure enough Iron Lora and Lockjaw sat in the same place as before. Bromium the Steadfast stepped foreward and told them that they were under arrest - if they did not come peaceably they would be taken by force. Iron Lora explained, to Bromium's relief, that they had come to turn themselves in.

The trial and the merciful Ordinator

And so they were placed in prison cells that would not hold them if they truly had wanted to escape, and Bromium himself went to Lucca to report. The High Ordinator congratulated the Automaton and told him to prepare the court; he would return shortly. Bromium did exactly that. Returning to the castle, he alerted the guards to prepare the prisoners, and sent word to a man who would later greatly influence his life - Lord High Inquisitor Charles Arnaude de Lionnes - to prepare for the trial. All was ready, or so he thought.

High Ordinator Ahdrid soon arrived and the drunken High Inquisitor began on about how guilty they were, and he was correct in Bromium's eyes even if he was drunk. But eventually his testimonials were rejected due to his stupor. Bromium was called foreward and revealed the scar and the story. Ahdrid was soon to sentence the Golems to death before Vergoth made his entrance. The Forgewrought explained that there was no real proof beyond Bromium's testimonial and his scar. The High Ordinator determined to make an example of the Golems and turn them into model citizens through punishment.

Draconians and Trouble Act I

Not long after the events which transpired with the capture and trial of the two Golems, things within Celdin settled. The inns prospered and the stores sold well. The guards had it fairly easy save for the random fights caused by drunken Dwarves or pissant Elves, and the occasional annoying half-Drow Sentinel. But then things began to unravel. A Draconian by the name of Serina Glider lept over the castle's gate one day, sneaking into the castle. Upon being found, she dashed about randomly as if trying to find something...and then suddenly gave herself up upon Bromium's attempt to capture her. Though she was imprisoned, the High Ordinator Ahdrid released her.

Draconians and Trouble Act II

Returning to Lucca to purchase a statue for his home in the clocktower, Bromium found the same Draconian stealing goods from the store. A loaf of bread. A chase ensued, soon ended by catching the female by the arm. Told that she would need to pay twenty five copper(two silver, five copper) for a four copper piece of loaf because she had stolen it, she was left despaired... that is until a an older Human male, Arken Rennatta, came and paid her dues, freeing her from the punishment defined by the shop keep.

Draconians and Trouble Act III

Now free of responsibility for the moment, the Forgewrought turned his attention to an arguing trio which the Draconian hid behind. Three Draconians, one female of black hair and purple fins (Selana Raiven), one male of black hair and blue fins (Exar Katan) and one female of blonde hair and bright green fins (Xylona Ravestone). It would appear that the blonde was jealous of the affection that Exar Katarn had given Selana... or something as such. To be truthful Bromium didn't quite understand it, except that the two females were bitter toward eachother. He had no idea how right he was at the time.

exarcopy.jpg - Exar Katarn

After stepping in to stop them from bickering, the Forgewrought re-entered the shop and paid the gold coin for the statue, requesting it be sent to the clocktower in time. But even then, the peace did not last. A guard, Aysen Asearic, entered warning Bromium that an older man had been beaten by a brown haired Draconian in the bar... the same one that had been caught twice earlier.

Bromium quickly mounted to the other side of the bridge from the inn area, allowing Aysen to drive her right into the Forgewrought. The plan worked flawlessly and the woman was shackled. However, something unexpected happened. The Dragoon of purple fins arrived - Selana Raiven walked to Bromium telling him that Serina Glider had not attacked the man, but instead a blonde woman did. The Forgewrought knew immediately that she was attempting to manipulate him into arresting the woman she had feuded with, so he walked into the bar and looked for the man.

Arken Renatta lay lying on the floor curled up like an infant in the womb, which isn't surprising for a man his age being beaten by a Draconian female. Bromium knelt beside the man but was soon passed by Selana Raiven. Bromium asked who had done this to which Selana replied again a blonde woman, which re-affirmed Bromium's suspicions. Bromium helped Arken to his feet, telling him he would report to court.

Draconians and Trouble Act IV

Returning to the castle with both Serina Glider and Arken Renatta, Serina was placed in the prison cell whilst the various members of the court prepared. Bromium pulled Arken aside to advise him that if he falsely accused someone, he would be put on trial for incrimination. And with that the trial began with Bromium as the prosecutor and Matrim Hakor as the defense. The court case proceeded with questioning Serina Glider first, and then Arken Glider. Bromium himself had caught them in several lies (as he would later suspect Matrim Hakor did as well) but had no proof on which to base the claim.

When the case had ended, Serina Glider was cleared of the charge of attacking Arken Renatta, but she did not find a forgiving judge. High Ordinator Vergoth himself had preceeded over the trial and had little love for thieves. Serina Glider was to be imprisoned for ten days and to pay the state eighty-five gold pieces to cover expenses. At this point she made the outrageous claim that she was pregnant. As time went on her claims became more outrageous that she had an egg, and that it must be laid in a warm climate or it would die.

Knight-Captain Cruendithas Pegason was a man with a heart of gold and then some, not wanting her child to die. The man argued that the child could not be risked. He would call in Selana to check Serina for pregnancy. Selana of course did not approve of Serina's foolish decision, but played along by dinrectly lying by saying this similar to "Oh, yes. Laboo is a warmer climate." Bromium would suggest cuffing himself to one of the Draconians and making the treck to make sure that it was not a trick as he believed.

However, High Ordinator Vergoth had a keen idea indeed. They would take a locked carriage to Laboo and await Exar Katarn's arrival to see if she was truly pregnant or not. Knight Captain Cruendithas Pegason remarked that it would be wise to bring Arken Renatta to Laboo as it wa shis home, and he needed to be safe from attackers - it would be thought of as Bromium's last test before knight hood. The party set out, High Ordinator Vergoth included.

Having made it to Laboo, it was quite some time before Exar Katarn had made himself known. Upon his arrival, Vergoth went off to speak to him in private. None knew of what they said, and some feared the reactions as all there knew Serina had lied. Vergoth stomped back in fury, telling Bromium to have all of them but Serina removed from his sight in fear that he might lose his temper upon them. Bromium did as he requested, and they returned to the castle and Serina was locked away once more.

Having locked away Serina in the prison, a cloaked figure made his way into the city of North Forest directly to Bromium and Cruendithas who were discussing the events prior. The cloaked man introduced himself a Numbers and stated that Serina had stolen a book from him and he had wanted it back. And so the three made their way to the castle and into Serina's prison. Knight Captain Bruendithas Pegason checked her for the book and found none. He requested that the Inquisition, or one sent by the Inquisition speak to her.

The Flames of Hatred

The next day Bromium made his way into Lucca to help with guard duty. Things were relatively peaceful, save that a couple odd men one being named Kryzalid ?, the other Kail ? were hitting on women relentlessly. Bromium didn't understand it in the least. As long as nothing violent occurred, he supposed it was all just fun and games. Besides the point, by listening in on conversations he was learning to talk fluidly, which made him feel less alienated.

Bromium began to patrol the northern half of Lucca when men and women alike began running out of the tavern - a fire had broken out. The sentinels began to help the children and older citizens to safety. Bromium, however chanrged into the tavern itself shortly after dipping his cape into the sea water. With his cape in hand, he began to beat the flames back and slowly and surely kill them out. The tavern was relatively safe for the time being.

Bromium stepped out of the burned building, his tabard itself singed to the point that his body was clearly visible through gaping holes. The sentinels gathered around, and all agreed it was Kryzalid and Kail who had started the fire with alcohol over two women who wouldn't participate in sexual activity with them. And so Bromium stormed off, chasing after the running men all the way to Laboo eventually capturing them. Throwing them both into the prison, he reported to High Ordinator Ahdrid.

The news was grim. While Bromium was congratulated for his service to the state, the two were to be released from prison, and to be killed on sight if they ever returned to Celdin soil again. While Bromium was happy that they were not to die if they used common sense, he knew the terrible always had a way of happening.

The Knighthood

The next day came by as all the others. Bromium has stayed up the night tinkering with various cogs and gizmos, and finally left the smithy to make his rounds for the morning. Fearing the sea air might make his metal rust, Bromium draped his hood over his head, and continued along the platform and onto the beach. Checking the supply cave for any one who might be hiding or stealing, he exited and started back for Lucca.

Waiting for him at the staircase was a familiar face. The half-elf Lord High Inquisitor, Charles de Lyunes. The High Inquisitor conveyed good news - Bromium was to become the first Knight Arbiter of the Order, under High Ordinator Vergoth himself for the good he had done for Celdin. Asking whether or not he had a preference where Bromium was knighted, the Automaton said he did not. And so they took carriage to the High Inquisitor's estate.

In the cathedral of the Lord's Manor Bromium kneeled and accepted the call, tapped on both shoulders by the claymore, and then on the head. Bromium arose as Sir Bromium the Steadfast, the First Knight Arbiter of Celdin. Charles then offered the claymore to Bromium as a gift of knighthood and escorted him to the portrait hall. All of the portraits there were of people Bromium had seen before. Of people he had been insulted by before, but for the most part they were too miniscule to be mentioned.

Draconians and Trouble Act V

Returned to the castles and sat on the baclony's ledge, looking to the window which shined the sun so brightly. Mezmerized by the beauty of it, he was almost completely unaware of a Setinel's approach. A sentinel by the name of Garret stood next to the table and saluted, and informed Bromium that he had been sent orders from High Ordinator Ahdrid himself to interrogate the Draconian for the location of the book. A book discovered to have one of the keys to attaining Lichdom.

Bromium stood up and saluted, heading deep into the dungeon. Grasping the prison cell key, he opened the door. Closing it behind him, he paused in self doubt. He, however, was a Knight Arbiter now and he could not give up his duty. There was also the fact that she knew thw whereabouts of a very dangerous book and was with-holding it. An almost sure sign that she, herself, wished to become undead. A sin beyond sins in his eyes.

Bromium shackled the female to the wall. He would ask her five times where the book of Lichdom was, and five times she would deny knowledge. And five times she would be punched in the leg. At that point Bromium could not stomach anymore and excited the cell and the dungeon entirely. Standing outside, he would find Arch-Bishop Abraham Ghan-Dragonis, a loyal cleric to Saurvold and the state.

Explaining the dilemna to the good bishop, Abraham agreed to aid Bromium by placing a gaeas on the Draconian - one that would force her to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth on any question. The two entered the cell, and Abraham explained to the girl what the spell was and how it worked. She nodded in agreement and the less violent interrogation began.

At first simple questions were asked. What was her name. How old was she, and the like. She answered accordingly. It was then asked if she had attacked Arken Renatta. She said that she had, but that he wanted her to. And then the book was mentioned. She denied knowledge of it. Bromium and Abraham exchanged glances. How could so many have pointed their finger at this woman to have a book of Lichdom and yet she say she did not have it? Something was amiss. Especially how she mentioned that Arken had wanted to be beaten.

Draconians and Trouble Act VI

Bromium and Abraham had long since exited the prison cell. Bromium however was approached by a man in black clothes - clothes that were expertly sewn, and obviously expensive. The man gave no name, but explained that Numbers was alligned with a sect of Dragoons called the Dark Dragoons who wanted to attain Lichdom. He was the true enemy. The enemy who needed to be locked up. And so Bromium decided a council was in order.

Sending Bromium to gather Selana Raiven under peaceful relations, Bromium waited in the throne room for the Draconian. He gave specific order that none were to enter the prisoner's chamber. Little did he know how many times they had broken his command. Ne'er the less, Selana Raiven arrived, and they discussed the Dragoons, Dark Dragoons, Serina, and Numbers in great detail. Speculations were given as to why Serina was able to resist the truth gaeas, and in the middle of the meeting, the wooded doors burst open.

Garret lead Arken Renatta and a piad mercenary into the throne room with his weapon drawn, demanding that Serina be freed. While Arken Renatta himself was very peaceable, Garret and the mercenary were not. The guards, however detained them by litterally knocking some sense into them with the butts of their spears, and the traitors, mercenary, and older Dragoon were taken out into the waiting area until the questioning had ended.

Bromium entered into the waiting area to inform them that he was ready to find that Sil'Fer Telios the Half-Drow Sentinel had begun dragging what seeme dto be serina's limp corpse out of the dungeon. He claimed she was dead. Bromium, however, knew better than to trust the lying Draconian. Placing his fingers against her neck, he felt a pulse and immediately dragged her back to the dungeon, forbidding Sil'Fer to return.

The Traitors are Numerous

Bromium returned shortly to hold meeting wiht Arken over Serina's placement, and little more than feelings were conveyed. Bromium returned to the dungeon to find Sil'Fer in the cell feeding Serina and undoing her shackles. At that point, he called the Drow out of the cell with a boisterous voice. Sil'Fer came out with sword drawn and attempted to swing at Bromium - bromium likewise grabbed the sword from the Drow with his battlefist and threw it to the side. Bromium tore the tabard off of the Drow's chest, tore his keys from his belt, and threw him into the prison.

That much having been taken care of, Bromium returned to the dining area and took a seat only to be approached by Garret, who had flung his sword at Bromium's head. The Forgewrought, however, moved his arm into the way, taking the blow with the metal and stone. Much like he had done to Sil'Fer, Bromium grasped the sword from Garret's hands, but this time he did not throw it away. He held it and stood solemnly, looking to the ground. Almost as if he was weeping for Garret's fate.

Draconians and Trouble Act VII

A meeting was called not more than a day after. Several events transpired including a hooded creature named Solicyte giving both Garret and Bromium a horrible vision of things to come. The vision itself had driven Garret mad, and he fled to the depths of Laboo. Bromium, while frightened, remained steadfast and vigilant. He attended the meeting which was held over the Draconian's interrogation. High Ordinator Ahdrid had not ordered it, and believed it was a fault of Vergoth. Vergoth believed it was both the fault of Bromium and Ahdrid. Infact, the High Ordinator blamed their judgement in making Bromium the Knight Arbiter.

The arguements passed on relentlessly and pointlessly, but finally the meeting adjourned. Threats incurred passively to each side. Vergoth, however, had a guest. A man wrapped in a black robe spoke of the where-a-bouts of the Runic Hammer. An item that the Forgewrought needed. Delta Blauw had it in his possession. Vergoth did not know this imp, but Bromium did. Traveling to Laboo's fairy pond, he procured the hammer on the solemn promise that he would return the hammer when he was done with it.

Serina Glider was released.

The Mage Tower and Undeath

Bromium had made way to the mage tower in search of knowledge about Daedrin Malice - a man wanted by Ahdrid Sydel-Dragonis due to necromantic charges. Bromium himself had seen the mage's handiwork. When the mage had touched Kail's arm, sores bubbled and his stomach churned. Kail had wished for death. It was a dire situation to say the least. Bromium embarked up the long stairs and stopped briefly at the third floor staring in horror of the intricate design on the floor drawn in blood. However, the Forgewrought had a goal, which was to speak to the mages.

Hearing voices higher up on the fourth floor, Bromium ascended to find Shival Felwind and Navaera Merfall with hands locked on eachother's buttocks. The Forgewrought froze in fear. The women were hurting eachother! As soon as he was about to bust in and pull them apart, the arch mage Delas did it instead. As Bromium inquired about Daedrin, he took notice of Delas' arm... which was riddled with the plague.

Bromium leant back with his hands fisted, demanding that the mage come with him to the castle to repent for his sins before Vergoth to which he was told that the tower did not follow the laws of Celdin. Bromium paused and looked about. Several mages infected by the control of undeath.. No, he would return with Vergoth himself. Bromium, for now, returned to Celdin to speak to Vergoth.

The Confrontation

Informing Vergoth of the dastardly mage was easy enough. Being contradicted by Caldyssa Eagleheart wasn;t, whoever. The Knight corner stepped Bromium at every turn she could. None the less, the three set off to the mage tower - finding the doors locked. Vergoth and Bromium both bullrushed the door, blowing it open with their might... and inward the went.

On the second floor they found scattered books everywhere as if someone was trying to find specific spells in vain. Stepping over the ungodly mess, the party made their way to the third floor... finding the blood seal. Caldyssa Eagleheart made excuse after excuse for the thing until Vergoth noticed the boarded up room. Beginning to dismantle the barricade, the party entered to find a treasure trove of hidden knowledge. Delas, however, was not without knowledge that they were there. He met them.

They discussed his undeath for what seemed an eternity. Denying all of Bromium's claims as they were made, including his undeath - that is to say until Vergoth asked "If I were to search you would I find you pure, or of evil?" Delas then gave way with a story of fighting a Necromancer off away from the tower, and being cursed with the plague of undeath. He claimed the necromancer was also the cause of the blood seal, but the story did not match up. Caldyssa Eagleheart also spoke up for the mage as if trying to defend him.

Bromium would never trust the Knight again.

A Grave Lesson Indeed

The most important lesson that Bromium would learn, however, was from Willy "Daggershark" Jones. A man wanting revenge - to kill Arolas Kanosek and then himself. The events that would transpire would lead to bromium capturing him, Willy escaping away, and then returning. Bromium would once more capture him, and he would be branded. His hat stolen, he would be sent away. That same day he would return for his hat, dressing up as a guard to hold someone hostage. They would capture Jones one last time and hold a meeting on his fate. It was decided he was a threat.

From Willy's sacrafice, Bromium learned the most important lesson he could have learned. That not all living creatures were good and just. And that wasn't to say that Willy was pure evil. But even the shady types who steal could just as easily go over board and kill someone.

The construct still has the hat of the deceased pirate, and the letter Willy had written to him.

A Brief Overview

Bromium has accomplished several things, from creating three Homonculi (An Iron Defender named Spike, an Expeditious Messenger named Flick, and a Dedicated Wright named Dwarf) to assuming a squire, and eventually knight her - Razan Relmyn. Upon Vergoth's dissapearance Bromium was left to fend for Greendale with Eian Smarth, Charles Arnaude de Lionnes, and the former Arch Bishop Geos Astral

However, skirmishes would errupt soon after Geos Astral would come across the Runic Tablets. Asked to study them after a long winded meeting with two Elven spies, the Forgewrought spent three days locked in his clocktower with them. When he would re-emerge, Bromium would lead a small three-man battallion to Cahfei's tower after being informed by Francois of Fimbrethil Taurelomea's evil presence.

Tearing off his cloak, Bromium's entire right arm sported runes as he moved against the undead, ultimately setting him on fire, whilst Norros Rossiver chased him to the top of the tower and threw him to what would be his demise.

Returning to the city, Bromium would become involved with several of Eian's plans to uproot the "corruption" in Greendale. First of which involving a sorcerer's illusion to see how trustworthy the magi were. At this time, even the clergy of Celdin had allied with the mages and the Seanchanni and had killed two illusory guards. When it came down to it, however, there was one enemy to fight - Bromium.

Taking short work of every mage there with less than fatal blows (and even being bear-hugged by an Elf when Bromium's metal was red-hot to the touch) the Sorcerer degraded the illusion, proclaiming mockery over the weakminded mages (All of which save for Kerran Whisperwind had been completely ignorant of the spell cast on them.)

Later on in the church one last battle would break out with random briggands and a Goblin, at which point Bromium had topped over the doors to begin combat. The runic creature, Solicyte, however would make himself known. At that moment, Bromium's right arm would fall completely limp, forcing the Forgewrought to flee the scene in utter fear.

The Spellcarved Soldier

The casualties in Kharlia had increased. While Bromium and Eian had stopped the rebellion and banned Alexander Quinn to Meridiem, and formed the Celdin Seanchanni Peace Treaty, bandits still roamed. Even worse, Lockjaw and Iron Lora had discovered a new golem - Bolt. With his apprentice, Mizz Nivet working on the projects of Celdin, Bromium had the freedom to finally take the fight to the forefront. But first, careful planning needed to be made.

Heading deep into Cahfei's tower, Bromium took the book that Cahfei had left to him and studied carefully for several days. The fires in the furnace flared and his runic tools bore down as he began to craft several plates - several for each ligament of his body, and one for his chest.

When Bromium had next made himself known in the city of Celdin, he wore the banner of Celdin over his shoulder as opposed to the tabard which he had normally worn with honor. The Forgewrought made his way into the castle and drew out plans. Writing out detailed plans of counter attack and ambush, he began to prepare for the worst. But, Bromium was different. Now, his body was covered in the signets which he had crafted. Bromium was the first Spellcarved Soldier...

Bromium's Journal

Year 52, Tuesday the 29th of Dewfall

Log Entry #1!

Havoc has broken out for the second time in two days, this time in shiridan, where the first was due to bandits in the northern half of the continent. Casualities are at an all time high, and I cannot help but feel as if I am to blame for not being out in the forefront with the men and women while building. But this project is such an achievement, if we are to finish it! I believe it will better the lives of everyone whom deserves it.

Iron Lora and Lockjaw have arrisen my suspicions however, now with another golem amongst them who killed a horse and a guard. He will face trial, there is no doubt of that, but as to when I do not know.I've not found any news of Vergoth's presence. Without either High Ordinator or the King, I find myself and Eian in the reigns, which is quite a burden. The laws must be kept, and they must be fair. But I find it is not so black and white as everyone thinks it to be.

My apprentice is quite the Artificer, having already done so much in the field of aeronautics. I have a feeling that he will even suceed me one day. We need more of our kind like him - upstanding members of society.

Log Entry #2

I can no longer sit back and watch my men fall to bandit attacks and slayings by all manner of evil mage or corruption alike. I will take action! I have begun to study the Forgewrought's link to Artifice and have begun to discover a means to enhance myself against all manner of beast that might threaten the good men and women of Celdin... No, not just Celdin. Of the world.

Year 52, Monday the 5th of Windcross

Log Entry #3

I have personally been assaulted by Lockjaw and Iron Lora, whom are traitors to the state. My arm was ripped off, however I have repaired it. As for Lockjaw, his eye has been removed. Below, I will add a drawing of their Ghulra. Lora has two - a fake one, and a real one. Keep your eyes out for both.

  • A drawing of Lora's gem/heart Ghulra, and then Lockjaw's weird yellow one is posted below!*

Wanted:

Iron Lora "Amethyst" and Lockjaw - dead For their heads a bounty of ten gold will be offered, amongst a fine longsword of steel making.

Tips for capturing the duo: Iron Lora often hides behind Lockjaw, transmuting him into items without any need for items to do it with. She has has a mana cannon spell, so a fire mage might do very well against her.

Lockjaw: Lockjaw is too slow for anyone to worry about. A maul to the head should do him in, however his arms are punishing - stay behind him.

Signed, Sir Bromium the Steadfast, Knight Arbiter of Celdin
