Birth of the Elves

Despite what some elves might say, they were infact not the first race to step upon Kharlia, but the second. After the fall of the Mar-Ithians, Lo took it upon herself to create the next race. The exact time when elves first appeared upon the world is not known, but they were originally a tribal, nomadic people for hundreds of years. They loved and cared for the land deeply, and loathed creating any permanent structures simply because it would interfere with nature. Their homeland was none other than Alkor, and it is here where the first civilizations of the elves began. The first race of elves to appear were the Wood Elves.

Centuries would pass and they would build their first city on Alkor, though what happened to this city remains unknown. It is said that they had a magnificent city that only the beautiful architecture of the elves could create. They knew the city was named "Alkoria", and that the city had relations with the Avariel tribe, who flew on giant eagle-like creatures. How this city was ruled, and many other details have been lost in time. The fall of this city was not the end of the wood elves. Infact, many years later tribes of elves began to appear all over Alkor. They were never able to rebuild their civilization to what it was, but the ruins were a common part of their lives that brought them confusion and hope.

The next race of elves were the High Elves, but the knowledge of what happened remains entirely unknown.

What happened with the High Elves led to the creation of the Imkana, as after whatever happened, an unknown tribe left for Kharlia. Shelter was taken in the northern reaches. Many years later that portion of Kharlia would split away, becoming what is now known as the continent of Frost. The constant cold from being much further north eventually changed them to the environment itself. Their bodies became frail to heat, while becoming resistant to the cold. They would create many settlements, but out of all of them only one lasted. The harsh weather made it difficult for any to survive, and thus the Imkana only had one village.

The Elves' First Connection to Mana

The elves were not able to use magic for quite some time. It was not until they found two artifacts from the Time of Sin that they were able to, using these, make a connection with mana. Hundreds of years after the events stated above, the drow would find these artifacts and use them in the Second Catacylsm to try and bring Searith whole, only to be stopped. However, in this attempt, the moon Duril was created.
