The Genji no Sakana is a Suirikun shop owned by the Genji clan of fishermen. The building contains two floors; the top of which is occupied as living space by the fishing brothers Takumi Geni and Nobuyoshi Genji, and the bottom where sales are carried out. The shop is located right when you sail into Suiriku from Oka harbor. It will be the first building you see.

Background:

Prior to encounters with mainland Kharlia, the Genji clan only did business in the bazaar. During the first large waves of foreigners where cultures mixed, Shuuya Genji built the shop to bring honor to the his family. Shuuya had little money to hire construction workers or an architect, but his sister was married into a family of woodworkers whom aided Shuuya with their skill.

Genji no Sakana was popular mostly among tourist in its early stages, bringing in decent money. As Suirikuns became more accustomed to foreign ways of business, the store gained a following among the locals.

While Shuuya aged into an old man it became unpractical for him to carry out the daily upkeep and market exchanges of the store. The responsibilities of necessary tasks, one by one, were passed down to his son Shino. Soon enough the store effectively belonged to the son. Genji no Sakana weathered the periods of Suiriku's isolation from foreigners under Shino's management, remaining profitable enough to be a practical place of business.

In recent years, with the abrupt death of Shino, the store is in the hands of the two sons Shino left behind- Takumi Geni and Nobuyoshi Genji.
