The Fall of Warholm

After the Lizardman Enslavement all eyes began to turn on Imperial Warholm. Celdin established an embargo against Imperial Warholm and sent various messangers demanding the halt of the trade -- even though the slavers were freelancers granted permission to set up a camp and to enslave the lizardmen by Ganelon and the Legion of Steel. Celdin's request was denied and the practice continued.

Then Celdin used its imperial oppression to march an army through the Legion of Steel and Ganelon to attack and conquer the slave camp. Luckily many Ganelon citizens were sympathetic towards the enslavement of the Lizards and warned the camp beforehand. Many of the slavers and hunters gathered their gear and made for the Olcas Ruta Jetty to load their cargo on the next ship going to Port Wolfe. However some hunters remained behind to collect more lizards. They were ruthlessly slaughtered in an attempt to defend their only job.

Warholm sent letters and ultimatiums to Celdin demanding that they halt any advances against the Dalmar and Ganelon people. Celdin answered the letter by secretly ordering an attack on one of their own forts. Word began to leak out around Eisensmarth that the Celdin regency hired mercenaries to destroy a Celdin Army encampment.

Celdin and the Bridgeton Terrorist finally had a reason to motivate the Celdin population to a war against Warholm. The former Bridgar lands were invaded. At the same time Alberea conquered Seilius without provokation. Celdin, Alberea, New Alkor, and Marsailles all attacked Warholm in uniform. The defense force of the nation could not hold off the invaders on both fronts and defeat was imminent. Emperor Zurkiba Warharel issued an order for his top advisors, at the time in Port Wolfe, to kill themselves alongside of him so that they would never be conquered by the oppressors of Kharlia. Each one drank a poison vial and died shortly there after.

News quickly spread across Warholm that the leadership was dead and that the other nations were soon going to destroy the nation they worked so hard to build. Many citizens headed for the closest port and carried what they could. Loyal soldiers of Zurkiba bashed into the treasury to take what they could, others picked his body up fearing that Celdin would defile it. A mass convoy of ships departed for Meridiem where they would find peace. They knew exactly where to go - Tracello, a former Dalmarite colony.

Arrival at Tracello

Dalmar ships began to pull closer and closer to the Meridiem coast, as scattered as they were the majority of them managed to make it to the borders of Tracello. The fleet of Tracello didn't appreciate the fact that there was a small fleet massing just outside of their border so various warships were sent to investigate. They learned of the events that transpired and returned to their command to recieve orders on the situation. The Dalmarite request to land and settle was refused. They had two days to leave Tracello sea or they would be destroyed. More Dalmar ships met at the rendevous and then they set sail once more to find land to settle. They sailed towards the North East, anywhere else would be plagued by Orcs.

Short in Supplies

The convey of refrugees began to run low on supplies by the time they curved around Marsailles. They would have to stop at a city for supplies or they would simply perish. They used an old Meridiem Map and they found the closest city to them, Avarus. They located the island and set course. Apon arrival only a few people were allowed to land and enter the town. They made contact with the citizens of Avarus and friendships were quickly made. Supplies were given and maps were shown. Unfortunate for the Dalmar refrugees there wasn't a single safe place to make a settlement. It wasn't until Eugene Jones pointed to a mountain range just south of Avarus that a settlement idea became clear. The new city would be built alongside of a mountain -- completely vertical. Seeing how a large portion of the refrugees were scientist and engineers it was decided that the new settlement would be technologically advanced. The landing party returned to their ships and set sail for the mountains.

Eugene's Dream became Reality

Inspection of the mountain range showed a very steep climb, the majority of it was a vertical line. The geologist of the refrugees could not explain it but offered a hypothosys - a combination of water and wind erroded the mountain until it was completely flat on one side.

Work quickly began on the project. Ships were used temporarily for various tasks such as storage, sleeping quaters, and labs. Eventually the horizonal levels were constructed and the ships were taken apart to build the buildings. Soon all of the ships were decomissioned and used as building material.
