The Great House War
OOC Information:
The house war was an event that took place in Thuulstrea some time around 2006. It involved quite a few people and was fairly enjoyable. The four main people that administrated the event were Lance, Nikky, ell and nashbem (as each held a high seat of power ICly). It was a conflict between Ni'Lithria and Helviiryn. The protagonist being Helviiryn, and the antagonist being Ni'Lithria.
The House War:
(Please note this is just my own (nashbem) recollection of what had happened. I, unfortunately cannot remember the precise order of some of these events. Or some events at all. I'll try my best.) Thuulstrea was in a weakened state and was only beginning to heal it's wounds under the watchful eye of Kyorlurn Istosuru. Buildings were rising and families were beginning to settle in. The seat of power, Helviiryn, stood to the north of the city itself and was one of the first things to be constructed. Time would soon pass and Kyorlurn ended up leaving for whatever his reasons, leaving Bahk'tess Khalith and Var'doegh Elcahl in power. The city continued to thrive for some time until a rather power hungry drow named Ukali Nendar seized the opportunity and tricked Bahk'tess into giving him permission to rebuild a home long-since destroyed from The Flood into a fort. The location of this fort, which was named House Ni'Lithria, could have not had a better position. In order to go deeper into the caverns one had no choice but to travel through the fort. The Ni'Lithrians turned the fort into a heavily-secured (or at least, as secured as it could be) gatehouse and stopped all passage to the lower areas, thus cutting their soon-to-be enemy, Helviiryn, off from the rest of the world. However, not everything went according to Ukali's plans. After striking his son, "David", Bahk'tess took David in to protect him. Xunthiera Ni'Lithria, the matron of House Ni'Lithria, and more importantly Ukali's mate, was angered by this. She was furious with Ukali, whom promised her that he'd return their child to them. The stages of the war were advancing faster than was expected, and so, knowing full well that they did not have the strength to simply overwhelm Helviiryn, Ukali and a few others left their fort. They travelled to the surface and eventually to Imperial Warholm itself. There Ukali discussed an alliance of sorts with their leader, Emperor Zurkiba Warharel. They came to terms. Warholm would grant Ni'Lithria weaponry (both siege and common) in exchange for the.. drow expertise. Assassinations. Xunthiera eventually went to Helviiryn to try and get David back herself, but Bahk'tess would not open Helviiryn's gate, and thus kept her outside. When Bahk'tess tried to meet with Xunthiera about ending the war, Ukali interjected and prevented the meeting. (Around here is where it'll get the most confusing. A lot of stuff happened. If any of you can correct this please do.) I believe David then offered to turn himself in to Ni'Lithria just to end the war, which he ended up doing, however the war was not ended. Somehow or another he ended up back in Helviiryn. I'd assume out of pure choice. Drakonis Veer, one of Ukali's oldest friends and comrades, made his way into Ni'Lithria. There they exchanged words, Drakonis explaining how he was proud Ukali had forged such a fort. Ukali, still angered about past events, attacked him but was defeated once again. As seemed usual Drakonis' words were not taken to heart until after the incident. Moralized and generally proud, the time had come.. There were a few more small meetings until Ni'Lithria gathered it's forces and began a march down to the lower caverns. Siege weapons were rolled forward and blasted down Helviiryn's first wall, as opposing ballista fired upon the Ni'Lithrians. Orc mercenaries led by Nortalk _____(can't remember last name) assaulted their final defense, the heavily-protected door. Through threats of a third house obliterating Ni'Lithria, Ukali finally backed down at Vuzzt's words. Ni'Lithria turned it's back to Helviiryn and proceeded back to their House.. presumabely defeated. Ukali was escourted into Helviiryn to discuss and finally end the war with Bahk'tess and Var'doegh. However, it was not over, as they discussed the end, a force of humans tunneled into the Helviiryn complex and began an assault. Of course, the drow all fought back. It went on for quite some time until the drow were finally defeated. Helviiryn was left in ruin. This event nearly took many of their lives. When it was over they found out the humans had erected a magical wall that prevented them from leaving. Ni'Lithria being the only seat of power left, took control of Thuulstrea and proclaimed themselves it's new rulers. The war ended here and eventually Kyorlurn returned, gave Ukali the boot, then began rebuilding once again. After quite some time Ukali would attempt once again to seize control of Thuulstrea with the remnants of Ni'Lithria. However this time they lost and were destroyed, ending Ukali's life and the Ni'Lithrian conquest with it..
