Establishment

The current incarnation of the Ignis Fatuus is, above all else, a magician's academy. Whereas previous "versions" of the group focused more on the guild aspect, in essence, already learn-ed magi banding together under one authority, nowadays one would travel to the Ignis to expand their magical knowledge under actual curriculums, or perhaps take up magic for the first time in their life.

The Ignis isle, or "shard" as it is commonly referred to, is actually what used to be a piece of the Stray Peaks of Durandal. When the Ignis tower in Laboo collapsed and the guild was effectively scattered, Durandal donated a new land to the distressed magi. The construction process took many a month to complete, but when it was finally prepared, the Durandalites literally cut off a peak of the mountain and, using hordes of bound air elementals, brought the island into the sky. From there, the construction of the actual facilities began. This took considerably less time to complete. The guild was soon reestablished because of this, and Caedril Rossil was made Magister by Shival Felwind, and still leads the guild to this day.

Hierarchy

Magister: The leader, headmaster, dean, and representative of the academy. The Magister takes it upon himself to induct, promote, and demote all personnel within the guild.

High Councilor: Trusted "advisers" and right hand individuals to the Magister. In the Magister's absence, the High Councilor's take up authority.

Professor: The teachers, as it were, of the academy. Most of the professors are assigned a certain jurisdiction, and all of the professors are expected to teach classes.

Peacekeeper 3rd, 2nd, 1st Class: Bodyguards, bouncers, security personnel, however you describe them, the Peacekeepers keep things tame in the event(s) of an emergency.

Substitute Professor: Substitute Professors are a step down from normal Professors, and are expected to assist their senior in any way that they can, which often includes teaching classes in the Professor's stead.

Student-Mediator: A Student-Mediator, for all intents and purposes, is simply a regular student with authority over his or her peers. They are expected to report to the Magister whenever he should request it.

Student: The staple rank of the Ignis Fatuus, the wide-eyed learner and practitioner of all things magical.
