Mana

Mana is the all-powerful energy of creation. It is raw potential manifest, and can be shaped into unlimited outcomes. It arcs through the universe in great rivers called Leylines, and fills the earth, sky and seas. Mana is sometimes visible in the form of bands of brilliant light when found in great enough concentration, but it is most often invisible to the human eye.

Mana is used as fuel to create Magic. Magic forces mana to transform into all manner of things, from objects to energy and even life.

Origin of Mana

Mana forms at the Leyheart in Verda, to which the Fae are its keepers. The Fae have been given the ability to direct the flow of mana out from the Leyheart into rivers of mana that extend throughout the universe.

The Leyheart is a massive fountain of raw energy. No one being lays claim to it, and the Gods and Fae alike are quick to come to its defense and maintenance.

Leylines

The rivers of Mana that extend from the Leyheart, the so-called Leylines, pierce and connect the universe and its many planes like threads in a tapestry. Leylines spread to all corners of the cosmic, and along their paths radiate their mana into the surrounding world.

Where Leylines intersect are called Ley-Crossings, and the mana of these places is so prevalent as to be visible to the naked eye. These Ley-Crossings cause visual phenomena not unlike the Aurora Borealis.
