Personality
Chad's personality, like his last name, is widely unknown, as all he seems to do every day of the week is sit in his chair by the fire and stare at the wall in front of him. If the fire goes out, of course he'll see to it that it is re-lit, but a very strong majority of the entire Ignis Fatuus academy claim to have never heard his voice before, and some go as far as to say they've never seen him get up from his chair. Due to this, he commonly comes under ridicule from certain students who do so under the certainty that Chad will not retaliate, verbally, physically, or magically. Contrary to all of this, however, stand the claims of a handful of people, among them the likes of magister himself, who claim not only to have heard Chad's voice, but to be good friends with the old man as well.

Chad has nothing to his name aside from his black robes, golden earring, wooden cane, and his chair.
Abilities/Other Information
Despite the fact that he never utters a word to strangers, rumor has it that Chad is one of the most established wizards in the entire guild, though many dispute this, along with the fact that the man can cast magic at all.
Additionally, Chad has never been seen sleeping. Students go to sleep at night and wake up to find him sitting in his chair, in the same position he was hours ago. It's unknown how he accomplishes this.
Finally, though all of one's senses will describe Chad as human, he can be found, vaguely, in history books that date him centuries back. He has been with the Ignis Fatuus since the guild's inception, and hasn't aged a day since.
Chad's History
Similar to many aspects of the old man, most of Chad's history is either long since forgotten, or simply unknown. He is one of the oldest members of the Ignis Fatuus, however, but is not shown that respect, due to the fact that he keeps too much to himself. He has a few ties to various magi among the guild, and a handful of outside contacts, as well.
Present Day
Chad acts as a firekeeper in the men's dorms of the Ignis Fatuus, standing only once in a blue moon, and speaking once every three. At first glance, the man looks braindead.
