History
It's common for many a civil duel to go on without casualty. A few knicks there, some scratches there, and that was that. But one man wished death upon a certain noble swashbuckler of his time. And he concocted a mischievious idea. To leave a snake's venom inside this man, under the guise of a gentlemen's duel. Collaborating with a no-questions-asked wizard, the Poison Edge was forged. With a simple gash, the victim would fall under a terrible, and potentially lethal fever. The duel was accepted, and the nobleman died a week later. No doctors had the know-how to remedy this alien poison, at the time.
The murderer merely snickered. And his ownership of the sword ended with his untimely robbery years later. Over time, it became an obscure relic. Finding it's way to being half-stuck in a mountain of treasure, which a green dragon slumbered upon.
Description
The Poison Edge is described as a scimitar with a golden or brass hilt, engraved with markings of a modest snake murdering a lion with it's fangs. The art style is clearly ancient. Beyond the hilt is the defining black blade, with a green tinge in the end. The blade is always moist with a liquid harmless to the skin's surface.
Abilities
Black Chills:
The blade's edge is constantly imbued with a venom that reaps a fever called "Black Chills" in the body of whomever it cuts. Entering the body, it'll cause intense sweating, and a horrible dizziness which can easily lead to vomitting. There are remedies these days to cure this ailment, but the medical attention must come immediately. There are also some unholy qualities to this fever, which a priest can drive away efficiently. If this fever is ignored for too long, death is inevitable, presuming there is no extraordinary immune system involved.
