Underwater Plant Species by Michael Tanner
From Valwiki
This document is a book (so far, it is a work in progress, both ICly and OOCly) documenting the plants discovered by Michael Tanner deep below the ocean. Each entry is complete with a detailed picture (created through magical image powder).
I am writing this book so that I may document what I have come upon in my underwater travels; this is both for future generations and so that I may be able to go back later and retrieve more of what I am attaining.

Plants
Rockcoral
Name: Rockcoral (Often known as Coral Men)
Properties: The coral itself doesn't have many uses; however, it can be used as sandpaper, because its so bloody rough.
Region Grown: Underwater - near Laboo.
Seed: Its coral.
Growth: It grows slowly.
Maturity (What it looks like): It takes the shape of a humanoid creature; thought to be made by Syren's whim, there are entire gardens of Coral Men on the bottom of the ocean floor.
Extraction: You can just break it.
Known Uses: Not many. Its possible for you to break it and use the innards as ingredients in practical magic, however...
Strangleweed
Name:Strangleweed (Often referred to as The Clinging Seaweed)
Properties:This plant will immediately grab at anything near it. While it looks like average seaweed, that is what sets it apart; many a swimmer has succumbed to its clamp-like grip as it pulls them under and feeds on them.
Seed:Well, its a seaweed. Enough said.
Growth:It grows very quickly. It is called strangleweed for a reason.
Maturity:Like average seaweed. However, its roots are akin to its stomach, and it will slowly consume anything; so its roots do not appaer very pleasant looking, at all.
Extraction:Well, if you can do so without strangling yourself, you can just uproot it from its sandy bed or cut away the actual seaweed parts of it.
Known Uses:While its seaweed parts can be ground up and turned into a medicine that can ironically cure swelling, not many other uses for this plant have been discovered.
Fish
Rockhopper
Description: A curious fish. This fish is seemingly too heavy to actually be able to swim efficiently. Rather, it propels itself from one rock to another on the bottom of rivers and lakes, thus why it is named the Rockhopper. Its brown scales often make it hard to detect amongst the rocks from which it propels itself.
Properties:Not many special ones. However, its rather tasty!
