Personality
In the earlier years of Zangus' life he was a rather happy lad with hopes of adventure and grandeur. Though in later years he turned out to be a grumpy, sore, rough, and retired adventurer and performer. Though Zangus turned out to be a rather grumpy sort, he was a good person and protected those who he could. Zangus believes in tough love, but treats his family better than he ever did anyone else. He despised little things like Gnomes, Kender, Dwarves, and what have you, as well as Goblinoids, Orcs, and Ogres. Also Zangus later in life turned his back on the Elves, as they proved to be also quiet corrupt in his mind.
Zangus was a performer, bard, entertainer first. Having to serve in many wars, battles, skirmishes and confrontations, wither Zangus liked it or not he became also skilled with longswords, Maces, Shields and Longbows. At his prime, Zangus could manipulate his bardic talents into a mystical sort of magic and use it to help him and allies in battles. However, in later years when struck by the plague that took his sight, he lost the ability. Some say he just never cared to use it again.
Zangus was a man who when he found a certain look, or way of doing things, he kept at it and disliked sudden change. He always wore a bandanna, a leather overcoat, and always to be safe than sorry a small breastplate. However his leggings were simply leather pants, and adventure boots. He wore a grizzled beard and long hair, but for a half elf had shocking long ears, one which was cut into slightly from a battle with an Ogre.
Equipment
Skyblade:One of the two swords said to have been passed unto Osiris Skyblade, by Elan himself. This magical blade is a longsword, with a piercing blue cobalt finish and shines even in the darkest of places. It never dulls, and is said to never be lost to those whom it belongs, returning to the owner upon willing it. The Sykblade's blade is said to have been able to cut through stone, and helps deflect some minor magical spells. It also contains in it minor wind cantrips, bestowing them upon the user, but they may only be cast 1/week.
However, the two Sykblades are missing. One is known to be forever lost under the weight of the oceans due to The Flood, whom was with a burried Jaden Skyblade in his tomb in Asca Dagnir. And Zangus while he was going blind from the plague during the Abyssal War II, gave up fighting and hid away his Skyblade, and never much spoke to anyone afterwards, and when he died of old age in Frost, the great flood took his body to the bottoms of the world itself.
Abilities
Bardic Knowledge: A bard picks up alot of stray knowledge while wandering the land and learning stories from other bards. Often a bard will think back to his travels and remember if he knows some relevant information about local notable people, legendary items, or noteworthy place. A successful memory will not reveal the powers of a magical item, unless they had is prior, but may give a hint as to its general function.
Bardic Music: Being a mystic bard, Zangus learned some spells through manipulation of the arcane through song, dance, and preformance. Once per day per bard level, a bard can use his song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around him (usally himself included, if desired). While these abilities fall under a category of arcanic spells, many of the descriptions discuss singing or playing instruments, they can all be activated by reciting poetry, chanting, singing lyrical songs, singing melodies (fra-la-la, and so forth), whistling, and playing an instrument with spoken words in a combination performance.
Background
Childhood
At birth he would be the youngest of two brothers born from Osiris Skyblade and his wife. But due to family strife, the father took the oldest in the midst of night to train him as a greater warrior than himself and left. Zangus was then taken to a small fishing island and raised there with his elven mother and a kindly Fisherman who rented them a room in his poor home. Here Zangus learned basic schooling and found a joy for singing and entertaining.
Sadly the good times would end for Zangus when near his Youth, his mother caught a fever and died. Leaving Zangus all alone, or so he thought. The fisherman told Zangus that he had a brother named Jaden Skyblade and his father still lived on the mainland of Kharlia.
Youth
Zangus set out on the world of Kharlia and met some interesting fellows. It wasnt until he stumbled upon the guarded mystical woods of Asca Dagnir did Zangus find Jaden. Who was already in the guard force there and on wood patrol. If it wasnt for the remarkable similarity between the two, Zangus' life would have been ended by the skilled rangers there, watching him intrude in their forest.
